Well this has been an interesting afternoon which has seen myself and a volunteer visit an old Salvation Army Chapel to advise them on how best to make changes to the building to become more inclusive to people with a disability.

What a fantastic place!!

We definitely needed some imagination in this c1880-built cold chapel as we tried to imagine how the place would look with existing walls knocked down, new bits added on and a lift that would need installing, but when all the refurbishment is complete later in 2016 it will be amazing, and totally accessible!

The Opening Doors project recruits young volunteers that have a disability to look at the accessibility, facilities and staff awareness towards people that have disabilities, and to help make improvements to buildings and services across North Lincolnshire.
