Volunteer Co-ordinator’s Forum

lovetohelp
Anyone, paid or unpaid, who supports volunteers, or is planning to work with volunteers in the future, is eligible to become a member of the North Lincolnshire Volunteer Co-ordinator’s Forum – Volunteer Voice. The group meets quarterly at various locations around North Lincolnshire (see below for dates, times and venues of future meetings – these may change so keep an eye on the website for updated information). The group Terms of Reference outlines the purpose of the group.

Interested in attending?

If you would like to attend the Volunteer Co-ordinator’s Forum meetings regularly, or know others who would benefit from attending, just complete the Membership Request Form to ensure that you are included on future circulation lists. You can also opt out of membership at any time simply by emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. If you have applied to be a member of the forum but haven’t received an invitation from the Volunteer Centre, you can still attend. All you have to do is complete a Reply Slip and return it to the Volunteer Centre 5 working days before the meeting date. This allows us time to book refreshments and ensure we have enough papers available on the day. Last minute? Just ring us and we will take your booking over the phone.

Standing Agenda Items at each meeting include:

-         Welcome and Introductions – this is an opportunity to briefly mention who you are, where you work and how you are involved with volunteers (ie supervising, recruiting, overseeing a volunteer programme, strategic development of volunteering in your organisation)

-        Volunteer Centre Update – a brief update on any issues that are relevant to group members

-     Open Forum – Any member has an opportunity to bring up any issues that they would like to discuss with the group in relation to volunteering. Members include people who are very experienced in volunteer management to those who are new to the role. This is a great opportunity to ask questions, share practice, paperwork, information - the floor is yours! You are also welcome to bring up any opportunities for collaborative working.

-     Speaker/s – let us know if you would like to speak at the meeting to describe the work you are involved in, especially if other members need to know how they can access your service! Alternatively nominate a Speaker who will share information for the benefit of the group – we welcome local, regional, national or international Speakers!

-     Refreshments (NETWORKING TIME)We provide refreshments (tea, coffee, biscuits) at the beginning of the session and during the mid morning break – but really this is a great time to network.

  • Meet other members, do a bit of networking, ask those questions that you don’t want to ask in front of the group!
  • Check out the ‘good practice information/news’ table provided by the Volunteer Centre or leave your own leaflets/volunteer application forms for the Volunteer Centre to give to potential volunteers on your behalf.
