2004 – a ‘big year’

Across the world 2004 saw the pinnacle of lots of initiatives around the world, and the arrival of many new technologies and changes. Big personalities featured highly in the news, for lifetime achievements and also many huge careers were launched. It was in short a year that was known for ‘larger than life’ initiatives.

  • The Queen Mary, the world’s largest passenger ship, made its maiden voyage
  • Mark Zuckerberg launched Facebook from his Harvard dormitory
  • Kanye West released his debut album
  • Former actor and US President Ronald Reagan died
  • Iconic 90s sitcoms ‘Friends’ and ‘Frasier’ aired their last episodes
  • Osama Bin Laden admitted direct responsibility for the September 11th attacks
