Our Team is led by a highly experienced professional with expertise in working with individuals and groups with additional needs. Alison Binns is our Family Support Coordinator, who supports the team of Volunteers who deliver much of the support work. Alison undertakes initial assessments and placements, ensuring that the process of matching Volunteer Support Workers to families achieves the best possible match for our families to achieve the best results.
All of our Volunteers have enhanced DBS checks, have attended a six week long training programme, including Safeguarding, Listening and other relevant Skills, and have a background and interest in developing their skills within the Sector, as well as having passed initial interviews and provided references.
The project is managed by a Steering Group with professionals drawn from related and referring agencies including local substance misuse experts, the Local Authority and local schools. The Steering Group are responsible for setting policy and approving the rigorous procedures developed to ensure that this project safeguards all involved.
The project manager for Family Foundations is Carole Phillips, VANL Chief Executive.
