Processing charges

£4.75 per employee per payroll run

£7.50 per employee per payroll run

So for a member group with three employees who are paid monthly the annual cost would be:

  • Year end accounts preparation

Chargeout rates

Member Group

Member Group With income below £10k per annum

Non-Member Group

Time spent

£27.50 per hour

Discounted to £25 per hour

£30 per hour

A small group with income under £10,000 per year, with no restricted funds, and with accounts written up to the draft accounts stage usually only takes one or two hours to complete an Independent Examination.

Time spent (and therefore costs) increase when:

  • There are a number of restricted funds/grants
  • Income levels increase
  • The bank is not reconciled
  • The cashbook is not fully written up
  • Records have been poorly maintained or are incomplete
  • We need to prepare as well as check the annual accounts.

Bursary Scheme:

VANL does operate a modest bursary scheme for one-off instances where due to extreme hardship groups require an independent examination of their accounts but do not have the ability to pay.   Applicants must be able to evidence such hardship. Further details are available on request.
