Time to Change grants fund

The Time to Change grants fund will distribute £2.7 million to approximately 75 projects across England from April 2012 to March 2015. This is the first time that Time to Change has awarded grants of this scale and we are looking forward to supporting local communities to actively challenge stigma and discrimination in innovative ways.

Energyshare

One of the biggest problems facing renewable energy projects is financing early stages: planning applications, feasibility studies, legal advice, site surveys. Once these obstacles are out of the way funding for the installation itself is far more forthcoming. energyshare are able to support you in raising £5,000 or £10,000 to kick your project into action.

Managing Money Better – Comic Relief’s New Older People's Programme

One in five older people are living below the poverty line and many lack access to good, independent financial advice. Many don’t know what benefits they are entitled to as they struggle to get through the complex claims process. In these testing times, and with the rising cost of living and soaring energy prices, older people are being adversely affected.

Aim of the programme

To help older people cope with the challenges of this particularly harsh financial climate and the resultant exclusion and hardship it is causing. This programme will be aimed at supporting older people (65+) to build their knowledge and skills to manage their money more effectively, ensure access to good, independent financial advice, guard against financial scams and abuse and cope better with cold homes. We are especially interested in how older people can be supported to manage the extreme rising fuel and food prices. In addition, the programme aims to encourage partnerships with voluntary sector organisations and banks, building societies, credit unions, energy companies and others to recognise and respond better to the needs of older people.

North Lincolnshire Homes’ Community Development Grants scheme

More than £80,000 has been handed out to charitable, community-focused groups throughout the region so far this financial year, with a further £30,000 on offer this time around.

As with previous events, groups are invited to submit bids for up to £3,000 for causes that will benefit local communities, and they will once again vote amongst themselves to decide which projects are successful in securing funding.

In addition to the £30,000, North Lincolnshire Homes are also offering a one-off ‘£10,000 fund’ to support a more substantial project.

The closing date for applications is 5.00PM on Friday 27 January 2012.

Community First

£30 million Neighbourhood Match Fund

The Neighbourhood Match Fund will provide grants for community-led projects, in targeted communities around England with significant levels of deprivation and social capital.

The Ashby, Brumby, Frodingham and Brumby wards have been selected as eligible to receive this funding

To access the money wards must do the following:

  • Create a Community First Panel who will think strategically about their local area; bring people together to decide how funds should be used and promote the programme locally.
  • Have an active on line presence through a community website or blog
  • Match funds with their time, money or other resources on a 1:1 basis
  • Create a neighbourhood plan by year 3 which seeks to improve the quality of life in neighbourhoods by involving everyone’s voice in shaping their future. This should identify the resources and capacity already available to the neighbourhood.
