Working Together To Safeguard Children
Working Together to Safeguard Children (2010) sets out how individuals and organisations should work together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. It replaces the previous version of the guidance, Working Together to Safeguard Children (2006). Chapter 8 of this guidance, on SCRs, replaces the December 2009 version of Chapter 8.
Working Together is addressed to all practitioners and front-line managers who have particular responsibilities for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and to senior and operational managers in organisations that:
- are responsible for commissioning or providing services to children, young people, and adults who are parents or carers; or
- have a particular responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Table 1 of the Preface sets out which parts of the guidance are particularly relevant to practitioners in certain roles.
The guidance provides a national framework within which agencies and professionals at local level – individually and jointly – draw up and agree on their own ways of working together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
