Scunthorpe Hub for Archaeology project
A three-year archaeology educational project is to run from Clare House in Scunthorpe.
£250k from the Heritage Lottery has enabled the W.E.A. to run an exciting new opportunity to teach archaeology. Students are now being recruited.
Students will do some classroom work, then move out to work in the field, learning how to dig, build historical structures, operate the geophysical surveys etc.
W.E.A. is also recruiting voluntary support workers who will support the students, and would welcome links to any organisation who may be able to help with transport.
W.E.A. is the largest provider of adult education in the country, despite the fact that few people seem to have heard of them! Partly funded by government, they will undergo an OFSTED inspection shortly.
